ABOUT EASTERN CHESS ASSOCIATION

Founded by Associate National Tournament Director and Fide National Arbiter Robert Jackson, ECA is bringing tournaments to the Richmond, Va area with plans to expand up and down the East Coast.

Mr. Jackson entered the chess community as a supporting chess dad who came to love not only the sport, but also the organizing and operating end of chess tournaments. With over 100 tournaments directed, both at the local and national level, his experience should lead to memorable tournaments for all players.

You will often see all of the Jacksons at ECA tournaments in some capacity. Both of the Jackson children are active chess players, with one also being a Tournament Director. You will also see Mrs. Jackson helping with everything from the setup, helping with admin and just in general keeping her husband sane.
